Adjust the amount of indentation when outlining tasks

Question:     

When I increase the outline level of a task, the column text automatically indents, and the text no longer fits in the cell.  How can I prevent this?

 

Answer:

The amount of space that column text indents when the outline level increases is controlled in the Column Formatting section of the Column Properties:

  1. Double-click the column heading
  2. Select the Column Formatting tab
  3. In the lower left-hand corner, change the value for Indenting for Outlining.
