Numbers or letters inside symbols

Question:

I need to have numbers inside my triangle symbols. Right now I am using symbol text and the text is pretty small and hard to re-size when the symbol sizes change. Is there an easier way to do this?

Answer:

Symbol letter marks were designed just for this purpose and offer the best way to get a single digit (number letter or other character) as part of a symbol. This is set up in the toolbox and can be a concise way of building a milestone schedule.

Examples:

Double-click any symbol in the toolbox.

Enter a letter for the Letter Marking:

If necessary, click the Text/Date Properties tab and adjust the Marking Letter vertical position (Upper, Middle Lower).

Adjust the font size for all symbol marking letters globally by choosing Format | Default Text | Symbol Mark.
