Assign specific text to a toolbox symbol

There are two ways to assign text to a symbol.

Method 1: Symbol marking  (single letter)

With this method a single letter can be added to a toolbox symbol.  Then, when the symbol is added to the schedule, the letter marking will appear on top of the symbol.

1. Double click the symbol in the toolbox.

2. In the Symbol Options dialog box choose the Symbol Shape tab.

3. Type in the text.

Method 2: Default symbol text (column fields or static text)

With this method, up to 3 lines of symbol text will be automatically added when a new symbol is added to the schedule.  The symbol text can include text from any of the columns (or not.)

1. Double click the symbol in the toolbox.

2. In the Symbol Options dialog box choose the Default Text tab.

3. Type in the text for Line 1 and optionally for Lines 2 and 3.  Then press the Insert button for that line of symbol text.  Now every time that symbol is put on the schedule the text  typed in will show up on that symbol. It's also possible to select a column and have that column's text display on symbols of that type when added.  The example below shows default text for both the start symbol and the end symbol.  The & words are substitutable text.  Columns 8, 9 and 10 are shown (the 10 columns on the left are numbered 1, 2, 3 ... 9, 10 (left to right.)  

   Symbols currently on the schedule will not update with the information.
